Not only do we think that this song is really, really well done, but the video is also superb! It’s one of the most inventive music vidaroos we have seen in a long time. It’s rare that we like a video, since most of the time they are just some sort of terrible screen writer’s interpretation of what they think we all “feel” when we listen to a particular song. Normally that way of doing it is just a ticket to the woeful city of fail. Not this time.
Born and raised in Tel Aviv, Israel, Oren only came to the US in 2001. He did some studies in Britain for a time…but in the end he just decided that New York was where he needed to be. So, he took some crazy pills and just came here without a job or anything to support him. Working odd jobs to pay the bills, he finally got some recognition when one of his songs was put on the soundtrack for the movie “Prince Caspian”.
“Her Morning Elegance” is on his first true album, released in March of 2009. It has a jazzy feel to it, which is more attributed to the instrumentation than anything. The brush on the snare for rhythm, the use of the organ for main lines…even throws in a xylophone for that extra 70′s lounge feel. Such a good song.
Here is the video: (note: I have hacked the embed code so it plays in high definition by default…)
