Having a cooling pad for my laptop is a must, as I run high performance photo and video editing programs that use a lot of processing power which causes the computers processor to heat up. My HP laptop has a partial metal frame which used to be too hot to the touch without the use of an external fan. Having a laptop fan can really make a laptops lifespan that much longer.
This review is on the Kootek Laptop Cooling Pad. This fan fits my 17 inch laptop perfectly as is very sturdy and well built. The laptop rests on a sheet of mesh metal which covers the fans. The unit has a total of 5 fans, one 5.9″ fan and four 2.76″ fans. All five fans have a built in blue LED light which gives the stand a nice modern touch. The five fans are all very silent, and are much quieter than my laptops built in single fan.
One notable feature of this cooling pad is that it also functions as a laptop stand. The cooling pad can be tilted to 6 different heights. At the base of the cooling pad are 2 tabs that can be folded out to help hold the laptop if it is set on an angle. Setting it on an angle not only makes the viewing angle better for me, but also helps improve my posture while sitting at the desk.
At the rear of the cooling pad are 2 power buttons, one which powers the larger center fan and one that powers the 4 smaller fans. Also at rear are 2 USB ports, one of which is used to power the cooling pad with the included USB cable. This allows you to use the cooling pad without it taking up any USB ports.
I received this cooling pad at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest review, and these are my unbiased thoughts on the product.
