Cooking with Teflon coated cookware is a game changer as it puts cooking and cleaning at ease with it’s non stick properties. The only challenge with these coated items is keeping the coating on the cookware. Teflon is very prone to scratches when using sharp metal utensils, and you definitely don’t want to ingest it. Using silicone utensils will not scratch your non stick pans, plus they are easy to clean.
This review is on the Checkered Chef Silicone Cooking Utensils Set. This set of silicone utensils from Checkered Chef contains slotted spoon, spatula, spoon, skimmer and soup ladle. They feel very well made and don’t feel like they will break under normal use. The silicone is hard and slightly flexible. Unlike metal utensils, these don’t get hot even if left in the pot between stirrings.
I used to have a 2 piece silicone spoon, where the handle was metal and the spoon was silicone, and when it got very hot the silicone part melted it’s way out of the metal handle, deeming it unusable. These utensils are made out of one piece of silicone so I won’t have to worry about that. It’s uni-body construction makes cleaning easier too.
I received this cooking utensils set at a discount in exchange for my honest review, and these are my unbiased thought on the product.
